The group held its first meeting on 11 February 2010.
The working group considered the objectives set out in the proposed terms of reference.
- Consultative forum on family violence
A subgroup has been formed to organise a consultative forum on family violence. The forum will provide the opportunity for organisations working the domestic violence sector to provide input into the joint Australian Law Reform Commission and NSW Law Reform Commission Family Violence Inquiry. - Amending court documents relating to ADVOs
The working group considered the issue of amending court documents relating to ADVOs to include information addressed to the victim of domestic violence about what to do if an ADVO is breached. The working group also briefly considered the content and format of information to be included on the court documents. - Proposed Terms of Reference
The working group will consider the other objectives of the proposed terms of reference in more detail at the next working group meeting. - Other issues
The Aboriginal Legal Service sought input and advice from the working group on its proposed policy and initiatives to assist victims of domestic violence.
The next meeting of the working group will be held on 13 May 2010.
