Work and Development Orders - spreading the word

> Back to previous page

The Government has also provided funding, over four years, to Legal Aid NSW and Aboriginal Legal Service NSW/ACT to provide support for the WDO scheme.  There will be WDO lawyers based in:

  • Coffs Harbour
  • Dubbo
  • Nowra
  • Campbelltown.

The role of WDO lawyers is to:

  • produce information and education materials to potential participants and community organisations eligible to be WDO providers;
  •  provide advice and minor assistance to people in relation to fine debt assisting eligible people to apply for WDOs if appropriate; and
  • promote the WDO scheme and provide assistance with registration.

Delivery of these promotional and educational materials will be carried out in collaboration with Community Legal Centres, Law Access and other CLSD agencies in regional areas across NSW.

A training session about the Legal Aid NSW WDO Initiative was held at the CLC NSW Quarterlies.
